He hears and answers prayer; and He saves from sin and death all who come to Him through Jesus Christ (Deuteronomy 32:4; Nehemiah 9:6; Psalm 9:7-9; John 3:16, 4:24; 1 John 4:8; Romans 5:8; 11:33-36). **WE BELIEVE** in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory (Isaiah 53:5; Matthew 1:20-23; John 1:51; John 3:18; 1 Corinthians 15:3-8; Philippians 2:5-9; Colossians 1:15-19; Hebrews 1:1-4; 1 Peter 3:22).  **WE BELIEVE** in the Holy Spirit who came forth from the Father and Son to convict the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment, and to regenerate, sanctify, and empower all who believe in Jesus Christ. Political Science/Criminal Justice) and Ashland Theological Seminary (MDIV). He has served on staff at Lakeside since the Fall of 2009, leading our preaching team and supporting our ministry leaders. A favorite Bible verse of Petar's is "when the goodness and loving kindness of God our Savior appeared, he saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to his own mercy..." (Titus 3:4-5). Brad is a graduate of Word of Life Bible Institute, Liberty University (B.S. Religion/Biblical Studies) and Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary (M.A. of Religion). He has served on staff at Lakeside since the Fall of 2009, leading our student ministries and overseeing our pastoral residency program. A favorite Bible verse of Brad's is "And this is eternal life, that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent" (John 17:3). Cindy is a graduate of The University of Akron (B.A. Sociology/History) and a Master of Arts in Theological Studies from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. She has served on staff at Lakeside since the Summer of 2018, leading our women's ministries supporting our global and local outreach partners. A favorite Bible verse of Cindy's is "For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need" (Heb. 4:15-16) Kim is a graduate Akron University (B.S. in Special Education). She joined our staff at Lakeside in the Fall of 2025 leading our kids ministries and programs. A favorite Bible verse of Kim's is "For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I have been fully known." (1 Corinthians 13:12). Simeon is a graduate of The College of the Sequoias (A.A. - General Education), attended Legacy Bible Institute, and is currently studying at Grace Seminary. He began serving on staff at Lakeside in the Fall of 2023, leading our music. Physically, we do live in a community, but spiritually, socially, and relationally we often live our lives in isolation. We find ourselves with no one to turn to when we have a major issue that has just surfaced in our life. Living in community affords us the opportunity to more wholly experience God through close relationships as we play and pray together, as we encourage and help one another, and as we study and live out God’s word together. At our church, a community group usually consists of 7-15 attendees in various life stages who meet on a regular basis in someone's home. These communities are about establishing relationships that encourage us to grow spiritually, offer mercy towards one another in our time of need, and, as groups, be the hand of justice in our community and the world around us. We are passionate about showing you who Jesus is. Whether it is in our own neighborhood or across the globe, we can tangibly express God’s love for humanity through our outreach "Jesus Is" projects and mission trips. Join us as we extend our mission beyond our walls and share the love of Jesus in our local and global community. Our church desires to invest in local ministries and organizations that help fill the gap for people in need in our community. Our approach is to form long-term relationships, where we can invest financial resources and create opportunities for our church body to serve and share the love of Jesus. The life-changing message of Jesus Christ is intended for a worldwide audience. Our purpose is to impact nations by equipping believers to "go and make disciples of all nations" (Matthew 28:19.) We partner with ministries in other parts of the world by providing short-term mission teams, financial support and other resources Our Kids & Student Ministry includes all kids, ranging from birth to 12th grade. We are a Jesus-focused, Spirit-filled, and life-giving ministry of Bloom, who's focus is to bring to life the Gospel of Christ in the lives of kids. Our vision is to raise up and empower the next generation to advance God's kingdom, so that our students can take their next steps to a life of significance with Christ. We are centered around discipleship relationships to foster an environment for our students to thrive on their journey with Jesus. Our ministry approach is based on a caring community and small groups where Godly relationships can develop - a gathering for students to encounter God through worship, teaching and other events, such as mission trips and summer camp. We offer childcare from Nursery through Jr. High during services. Jr. High (Grades 7 - 8): Wednesday Nights - 6:30pm - 8:30pm High School (Grades 9 - 12): Tuesday Nights - 7:00pm - 9:00pm The purpose of the Worship Ministry is to use music and song to provide an environment for people to glorify God and experience life transformation. Every week, thousands of people come together here to enter into His divine presence through thanksgiving, praise and worship. Accomplishing this requires a large group of people who use their gifts and talents to serve God and minister to the hearts of His people. We would love to have you get involved. It is a real joy for us to meet newcomers and to tell you about all the good things God is doing in our church family. For over ten years now it has been our mission to love God with everything. That means that no matter where you have come from and where you are on your spiritual journey, we want to come alongside to inspire, equip and encourage you to live out a life that will bring glory to God and be a blessing to the world.  Here's all you need to know before you show up for your first Sunday morning gathering: Come as you are. Although our time will be taken up by singing, teaching and praying, you don't need any manual to figure out how to fit in. Jesus simply says: "Come to me" and we say the same. Just come as you are! We are currently meeting at the Bend Community Center, twice on Sundays. There is plenty of seating, and made accessible to everyone, so if you have any special needs - don't worry! We have you covered. Most services last somewhere around an hour long, and are not age-distinct. Although some churches choose to have age-specific services, we choose not to in order to keep experiences the same for everyone. A full band leads us in singing both contemporary praise songs and traditional hymns. Our preaching consists of expository sermons through books of the Bible, currently in the book of Psalms. We also regularly celebrate the ordinances of baptism and communion is served the last Sunday of the month. #### We believe that children learn from the earliest of stages about God, love, and faith. From nursery care to 6th grade, we partner with parents in sharing God's love with young hearts through age-appropriate activities and lessons. We are offering a Sunday School during our 10:00 AM service. Infant to Preschool age children can be dropped off in the classrooms at 10:00 AM. Kindergarten through 6th grade children will start in the LOFT for singing and then go to their graded classes with their teachers and helpers. APS provides accurate information and practical support in a safe, confidential and nonjudgmental environment. Fieldstone Counseling is a ministry dedicated to biblically-based, Christ-centered, and clinically informed counsel. They serve individuals, couples, and families as well as providing seminars and workshops for local churches and organizations. They exist and desire to help all come to know Jesus Christ and grow in their personal faith. Image Clear Ultrasound (ICU) Mobile's mission is to serve women standing at the crossroads of decision for their pregnancy. Through a nationwide network of affiliates, ICU Mobile offers women pregnancy testing, ultrasound services, and a client advocacy program that addresses each client’s unique needs. ICU wants to reach women and make a difference by showing them God’s gift of life while planting the seed of His life-saving Gospel. Lydia's Home is a residential, faith-centered recovery program for women in Summit County. Lydia's Home is an outreach of Broken Chains Ministry. Safe Families for Children mobilizes families via faith communities to open their homes to care for vulnerable children. We desire to help families before a major crisis hits with the hope that we can keep families intact, minimize children entering foster care, and reduce abuse and neglect. The Baptist Theological School in Novi Sad, Serbia works to equip a new generation of Christ-focused leaders in the Balkans. BTS provides a four year undergraduate degree for students and missionaries, as well as equipping seminars for local churches. Kayla and Jocsan Morales live in Puerto Escondido, Mexico, where they are establishing Abba Father Children’s Home. They are introducing the fatherless to their Heavenly Father– growing, educating, healing, breaking chains, and creating families for the children of coastal Oaxaca. Lance and Ruth Baker live in Chiang Mai, Thailand. It is a real joy for us to meet newcomers and to tell you about all the good things God is doing in our church family. For over ten years now it has been our mission to love God with everything. That means that no matter where you have come from and where you are on your spiritual journey, we want to come alongside to inspire, equip and encourage you to live out a life that will bring glory to God and be a blessing to the world.  Here's all you need to know before you show up for your first Sunday morning gathering: Come as you are. Although our time will be taken up by singing, teaching and praying, you don't need any manual to figure out how to fit in. Jesus simply says: "Come to me" and we say the same. Just come as you are! We are currently meeting at the Bend Community Center, twice on Sundays. There is plenty of seating, and made accessible to everyone, so if you have any special needs - don't worry! We have you covered. Most services last somewhere around an hour long, and are not age-distinct. Although some churches choose to have age-specific services, we choose not to in order to keep experiences the same for everyone. Light to the Nations ## DAY 12 - Travel Day ## What does it cost? ### PRINTABLE MATERIAL While we do our best to ensure that all items listed in your itinerary are included, there are times when conditions beyond our control may affect your program or itinerary, including but not limited to air carrier changes, delays, weather, political climate, time constraints, or changes made by your tour leader and tour guide. •Walking often takes place on uneven, rocky, or ancient surfaces •Frequent stops for teaching and rest are built into each day •Some locations require stairs, inclines, and rugged terrain •Participants should be comfortable walking and standing for extended periods •This trip is best suited for those who can navigate uneven surfaces confidently \- We arrive at Ben Gurion Airport this morning and are met by a tour representative. \- Our tour begins as we travel through the **Valley of Elah**, the site of the famous biblical battle between David and Goliath. \- From there, we travel to **Tel Be’er Sheva**, whose name means ‘Well of the Oath/the Seven’, referencing the well of oath between Abram and Abimelech, the King of Grarr. \- Later this afternoon, we view **The Fountain of Tears**, which has been described by its creator, artist Rick Wienecke, as “sculptured dialogue of suffering between the Holocaust and the Crucifixion.” \- We transfer to our hotel to check in and refresh before joining for a welcome dinner together this evening in our hotel. \- This morning, we travel to Tel Arad, an archeological site where remains of a fortified Canaanite city and fortresses from the time of the Kings of Judah have been unearthed. \- Next, we move to Kibbutz Sde Boker in the heart of the Negev and visit the gravesite of Israel’s founding father, David Ben Gurion. As we stand on a cliff overlooking Nahal Tzin with an astonishing view of the Advat highlands encompassing us, we can begin to understand how he loved this land so much. \- We continue with a classic desert hike in the Zin Valley. As we view the amazing landscape that surrounds us, we have the chance to encounter the spring Ein Akev, a small Bedouin farm and an ancient Nabataean city. \- We transfer to our spa hotel at the Dead Sea to check in, followed by dinner together this evening. \- Overnight at Prima Oasis Spa Club Hotel at the Dead Sea. \- Breakfast and morning at leisure at Prima Oasis Spa Club Hotel to swim or enjoy the spa facilities. \- We check out of our hotel and travel along the shores of the **Dead Sea** to **Masada**. Upon arrival, we ascend by cable car and tour the mountain fortress built by King Herod, where the Zealots of the first century made their last stand against the Romans. While here, we view the remains of the walls, palaces, synagogue, water cisterns, mosaic floors, roman baths and other findings. \- This afternoon, enjoy a short hike to the hidden waterfalls in the desert oasis of **Ein Gedi** and to view **the Qumran caves**, where **the Dead Sea Scrolls** were discovered by a local shepherd. \- We transfer to our hotel in **Jerusalem** for check in later this evening for dinner at our hotel. \- We begin our discovery of Jerusalem by exploring the Western Wall tunnels, the underground continuation of the Kotel, examining important archaeological discoveries that are revising our understanding of daily life in this ancient city. \- Next, step back in time 2,000 years to the glory of King Herod’s Second Temple and its majestic supporting structures at the Southern Wall excavations. We will stand on the Southern Steps, where hundreds of thousands of pilgrims ascended to the Holy Temple every year, walk under the remains of the enormous Robinson’s Arch and along Herodian Market Street, where the enormous fallen ashlars attest to the immense destruction wrought by the Romans in 70 CE. \- We return to our hotel to relax before dinner together this evening. \- This morning takes us to t**he Garden Tomb** for an unforgettable **Communion worship service**. The Garden Tomb was unearthed in 1867, and archeological findings such as an ancient wine press and cistern indicates to some that this land once contained a garden, and along with the account of John the Evangelist, this site has become identified as the “garden tomb” of Jesus. \- Next, we stop atop **the Mount of Olives** for a stunning overview of the city before embarking on a walking tour through **Kidron Valley**, just as Jesus crossed many times travelling between Jerusalem and Bethany. \- We enjoy time to visit the **Chapel of the Ascension** on own, where tradition holds that Jesus ascended to Heaven after his resurrection, and today is a mosque. \- Next, view the **Tomb of the Prophets**, an ancient burial site located on the upper western slope of Mount Olives. According to a medieval Jewish tradition also adopted by Christians, the catacomb is believed to be the burial place of Haggai, Zechariah and Malachi, the last three Hebrew Bible prophets. \- Onwards to the **Garden of Gethsemane**, a beautiful green space believed to have been a garden even in biblical times. It is believed that Christ and His disciples retreated to the garden after the Last Supper, and it is here that Christ gave his last sermon to his students. \- We continue to explore **Saint Anne’s Church** and the **Pool of Bethesda**, where Jesus cured the lame man, and then stroll along **the Via Dolorosa**. The final station of the Via Dolorosa is **the Church of the Holy Sepulcher**, the place where Jesus is traditionally believed to have been crucified. This church is one of Christianity’s great pilgrimage sites and a testament to the remarkable diversity of the Christian world. \- We return to our hotel and enjoy dinner together this evening. \- Entire day at leisure to explore and discover Jerusalem on own (suggestions to be provided). Feel free to visit the Tomb of the Prophet, worship in a Protestant church, or walk through Hezekiah’s Tunnel. \- We meet this evening for dinner together at our hotel. \- We begin our day atop **the Temple Mount**, known as Har Habayit and Haram al-Sharif, to stand on the ancient platform that once held the Jewish temples and today hosts mosques, the Islamic shrine and the **Dome of the Rock**. \- Next, we drive past the **Shepherd’s Fields** and continue to **Bethlehem**, a modern Palestinian town, and the place where, according to Christian tradition, Jesus was born. Here, we walk through the Old City to **the Church of the Nativity**, his traditional birthplace. \- We continue to **Shiloh**, an ancient city and central sanctuary of the Israelites during the pre-monarchic period, before the First Temple in Jerusalem was built (pending security approval). \- On our way back to the hotel, we visit **Genesis Land** in the beautiful **Judean desert** and **ride camels** above the Wadi Kelt riverbed. \- We return to our hotel in Jerusalem to relax before dinner together this evening. \- Breakfast and check out of our hotel before our early morning departure to the Jordan Valley. \- We begin at Tel Jericho, a historical site that was continuously populated from the time of hunter-gatherers of 10,000 BCE through the late 6th century. Among the numerous discoveries made here, the most notable is the conical Tower of Jericho. This 28-foot-tall stone structure contains an internal staircase of 22 steps and dates from 8,000 BCE, making it one of the earliest stone monuments made by man (pending security approval). \- We view the Mount Temptation, where Jesus fasted for 40 days and 40 nights to successfully resist Satan’s temptations. \- We pause at the Qaser El Yehud baptismal site situated on the banks of the Jordan River. \- As we drive amongst the amazing surroundings of the desert, we get to view ancient Roman ruins, Beit Shean, and the Arbel Cliffs. We stop at Ein Harod, Gideon's Spring, and hear of the incredible stories that took place here. \- We continue to Nazareth, where the angel Gabriel revealed the coming birth of Jesus, to visit the Basilica of the Annunciation. We stop on the outskirts of Old Nazareth to visit Nazareth Village, an open-air museum that attempts to recreate a Galilean village. This place is considered to be holy as Jesus spent nearly 30 years of his life in this region. \- Later this afternoon, we travel to the Galilee to check into our kibbutz and enjoy dinner together this evening. \- Overnight at Maagan Holiday Village Kibbutz in Maagan. \- Our day begins with **a boat ride** on **the Sea of Galilee** using a boat inspired by the fishing vessels used here over 2,000 years ago. Don’t worry, the safety precautions and comfort levels will be modern rather than ancient! \- We venture to **Capernaum**. Often called the “town of Jesus,” this ancient fishing village was a mixed Christian-Jewish area where Jesus and his disciple Peter were based. Explore the church and synagogue that have been discovered here and see the many pilgrims who flock to the area. \- We visit **Tabgha**, site of **the Church of Multiplication**, where the mosaic floor depicts a basket with loaves and two fishes, a symbolic reference to the miracle where Jesus was able to feed the multitudes. We also stop to see **the Church of the Primacy of Saint Peter**. Next, we travel to **Caesarea Philippi (Banias)**, the site where Jesus revealed his mission to Peter and the other disciples. \- We travel to **the Mount of Beatitudes**, where Jesus is believed to have delivered one of his most influential sermons, the “Sermon on the Mount.” \- This afternoon, we take a short hike through the **Tel Dan Nature Reserve**, where lies the source of the Jordan River and is a site of early archaeological finds. \- We return to our kibbutz for dinner together this evening. \- Overnight at Maagan Holiday Village Kibbutz in Maagan. \- Breakfast and check out of our kibbutz this morning. \- We continue with a short review of the ancient Hellenistic city of **Hippos-Sussita**. \- Next, we drive along the top of **Mount Carmel** to a panoramic overlook of Haifa revealing the beautiful Bahai Gardens, a UNESCO World Heritage site adorning the descent to the sea. \- Later this afternoon, we venture to **Caesarea Maritima**. This city and harbor were built under Herod the Great near the site of a former Phoenician naval station and later became the provincial capital of Roman Judaea. Here, in 1961, the Pilate Stone was discovered – a piece of limestone bearing an inscription that mentions the Roman prefect Pontius Pilate, by whose order Jesus was crucified. \- This evening, we visit **Jaffa** and enjoy a farewell dinner at a local restaurant, recalling and sharing all that we have experienced on our journey together through the holy land of Israel. \- Overnight in Tel Aviv area at Metropolitan Hotel or Grand Beach Hotel or similar. \- We transfer to Ben Gurion Airport for our 11:30 am flight to the United States.
